Okay, I think you guys are over reacting . I haven't seen Anna's models either, but a double sided human nude? That sounds rather artistic to me. I think there is a fine line between art and smut.
Anyway, my friends thought it would be funny to get me a similar book for my birthday. I have folded a couple models but no original designs. To be honest, I think my friends used the book more than I did, lol.
Thanks LeafPiece! You're the perfect person to ask this to. Could you please ask your friends if it was hard to buy that book? Do they sell it like any other origami book or do they ask for your ID or something?
It's called "Rude Origami" and it was actually a kit that came with paper. The models were not that great.
I'm pretty sure they got it at a gag store like Spencer's (these stores are common in the malls where I live). This was several years ago, so I don't remember how old they were, but I think in general you don't have to be 18 to buy at those places. I doubt a normal book store would carry that kind of thing, but I could be wrong.

He does some, but not much. I agree, they may be works of art, and folding them is not sacrilege. And did I not say that this topic was interesting? and remember, what we say online does not necessarily reflect our personal opinions. Redheadorigami, that cartoon is in utterly bad taste, even if it is even mildly amusing.. I was thinking more along the lines that it is not human body, sex etc that is twisted, but I cannot explain what I really mean. It's more along the lines of creators mind from form to subject, what makes you fold that, etc than anything else. Let's just be sensible about this from now on, no more jokes, or comments on other users and get on with origami. Oh, and i forgot, I was not thinking one bit (i was extremely nervous and in a hurry) when I put that post up, so please ignore it, thanks. As well as this, in reply to the question for the topic , I have done a doodle of two figures embracing, but that's about it for me.

You're right but I didn't realize that till I started this thread. And I get it's small but just Anna and I would be a VERY small niche, if we can call it that . I'm still hoping I find someone else around here besides her and I.

Something tells me that Gerardo is underage for things like erotic origami books.
I'm sorry if this seems sort of aggressive; it's just a look on things. No it is not "wrong", but now a days there are a lot more kids on thekhans origami forum and so you all have to keep this erotic theme off the forum. It's responsible of you to keep it through PMs and emails. I just wouldn't want to scar any of the youngins on the forums. Also parents would be concerned if they saw this.

while i do think forum members should try to be responsible, i also think it's the responsibility of the parents of our underage posters to have some idea of what their young ones are perusing on the web. unsupervised youngsters will find erotic materials on the web if left to their own devices.
all that said, taste aside, it shouldn't be a huge shocker that there is not much "erotic" origami; folding human figures has only come en vogue in origami within the last 10 or so years, and the process is still evolving. like cats, the human form is very curvilinear, so it is hard to make good representational origami with humans. takashi hojo is arguably its master, but even his humans are very stylized. joseph wu has been very vocal in his criticisms of kirschenbaum's humans, which are basic figures with "hoods" for heads. giang dinh has made beautiful human figures with motion and life, but they are also extremely abstract.
further, the vast majority of human figures currently are made from box-pleating, and well, look like it--distinctly rectilinear, not curvilinear. even further, many many of these box-pleated human designs are based on anime characters, which are already caricatures of humans. tan vuong's recent contributions of young ladies in bathing suits is an example. i admire the ingenuity of the designs, but they are also very fanboyish.
