Methylcellulose

Hi,

I backcoating a tissue with MC. But this dont win more strong, this only make a fine film on paper, and make this more rubbed(is dificul to explain). I use MC at 10%, is possible that in need to spay wateron paper before apply MC.

Any suggetion.

yes in lafosses book (spelt wrong) it says to add water as if you were going to wet fold. the water will help the mc go through the paper

After reading the post, i suppos that my error is that i use 10% MC. And not water spray the sheet before. Another important factor is humity, i think that apply iron dry work

I test to make 30% MC, and explain the results.

Don't worry so much about exact percentages (10% or 30% or whatever). Depending on your climate it may change the properties of the paste. A better way is to mix up the methylcellulose so that it is the consistency of egg white. I've found that works best for me.

Yes joseph, i suppose

But i am a little frustated because my 2 tissue+MC dont hold crease, and slip.
I know that need more test.

I order mulberry paper to test it, i think that more strong fiber help.

I test MC with other paper for example manila paper, but in many case the best result is where you apply a tissu to the desired paper.

i continue working, i love paper.
