Hi all, I'm new to this forum.

I'm a 33 year old woman from Sweden.

I love folding origami boxes, especially for Christmas, to put gifts in. But I have a problem, that I can't work out for myself, because I got dyscalculia.

I love making rectangular, masu, deep and shallow boxes. Is there any way to calculate what size of paper I need, when I know what size of the finished box I'd like to have? Anyone understand what I mean?

I don't want to make the boxes too small, or way too big, just the right size. I got one book, but it doesn't say how and if I can somehow figure that out.

Also, I love cats, is there an Origami cat I can fold?

The base of a traditional masu box is one quarter of the original square.
There are a couple of origami cats on http://www.origami.com

I am deeply sorry, but I just figured something out: I was wrong about the masu box sizes. The real size is one sixth of the original square. Again, sorry.
