Hi all, has anyone made a working Origami umbrella, completely folded from a single piece of paper?

Cheers, HF

Paper hardly makes a good rain-shelter. :)

i have designed an open umbrella, with some afford there is a chance you may close it too. but what do u mean by working? open-close work or protect rain-sun work?

if you mean life size with my model then you need 5foot x 5foot or 1,5m x 1,5 m square paper. my model also has an unwanted partition inside. its almost invisible unless u look directly in it. that might be a turn down.

Cool umbrella! I would sure love to fold one! I think he means an open-closing umbrella.

Mrs. Steingar had a paper umbrella a long time ago, very old and quite Japanese. I think the paper was coated in wax or something. It held up under light rain, I doubt it would have done much against a deluge.
