O.K everyone, I have finally lost my mind.

As I was losing my mind over figuring out Ryu Zin CP... it hit me!!

"Why aren't there an origami Manga/Comic/Animation?!!!"

You can pretty much find Japanese Manga, Comics, and/or Animation on just about anything. (The latest one I saw was called "Shota no Sushi" a story about a young man who want to become #1 Sushi Chef in the world)

Anyone?

We got all basic factors to have a great fictional story going.

So follow me here..

1. Main character (this can easily be made)

2. Concept of operations (Which will evolve around origami. In historical, upcoming concepts, and theories)

3. Other characters who will come in our main character’s path to make this quest difficult. These characters can be fictional based on real people. Couple of scenarios I though of are;
a. Run in with Dr. Lang (or in fictional world he would be called Mr. Langfield) in some sort of competition where our main character defeats Mr. Langfield in the final (sorry Dr Lang.) but only to reveal that there are so many characters in Japan whom need to be dealt with. (Like a fictional character of Satoshi Kamiya).
b. Story line can lead to one’s quest to become the best origamist in the world (yeah I copy that concept). During his or her quest, the story reveals the theories of origami such as box pleating, molecules, circle packing, and/or hybrid base. This overwhelms the main character and humbles him to get deeper in to it. (yeah it’s based on personal story he he he)

Of course the storyline can easily be hybrid of two above.

Then, Satoshi Kamiya turns into an evil maniac and folds a 50-foot long Ancient Dragon and animates it with black magic. Then he rides it to the city and starts shooting fireballs into the buildings. Unfortunately, being made of paper, the Ancient Dagon itself catches fire and explodes in mid-air. At the end of the episode, a robotic hand burts out of the pile of charred remains of paper, revealing that Kamiya is actually a TERMINATOR android, sent back from the future to destroy all humans with his insane origami powers!!!!! BLAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

anyone interested in origami in fiction should check out a short story by charles de lint... "paperjack"...

Hmmm...this is interesting. I always thought that it would be neat to have an anime where the main character had 'origami powers'-he could animate whatever he folded. Here is what I am envisioning-there is an evil syndicate ruling over Japan-they have a political stranglehold on the country and advanced weapons technology and manpower to enforce it. The main character with his origami abilities is a peaceful man who is removed from these complicated, corrupt aspects of society who is brought to light about the situation. He is then torn between his lifestyle and using his power to bring justice to the world. When he gives in and begins fighting to free the country, he gets involved more in the corruption of the world and must fight to avoid falling to the evil that he is involved in.

Really? I didn't realized they had given me a credit!

I googled the Millenium episode and found a 3 minute youtube video link. Showed a kawasaki rose at the beginning and some other models at the end. Great to hear you were involved in the episode, Joseph!

perhaps i spoke too soon. it's been awhile... but i forget how exactly i knew that you had done it, though a trained eye can sort of tell it had your "touch"... i'll rewatch and let you all know .

Is there anyone who can draw manga? I can't draw but I can write and map out a story. I really like the idea and am surprised that some japanese company hasn't done something like this already. Well if anyone wants to hook up and give a whack at it let me know I'll start playing with ideas and mapping out a plot.
