Surprised no one is talking about it. The bird on the cover is gorgeous... origamido paper no doubt :(

Whoa, good call, man. What a bargain too! Just pre-ordered mine, hah.

Now we just have to wait until mid-October....

Wow! Looks excellent, includes that amazing alligator that he is exhibiting a life size version of as part of the Peabody exhibition.

Excellent. I've been waiting for this "Advanced Origami 2". I can't wait for his origami cookbook too. He mentioned them on June 5th 2007 on the O-List, under an e-mail about origami candy:
Michael LaFosse wrote:"I do not have any photos of the folded candy--I ate the evidence soon
after making them, and I did not own a camera then--but I am planning to
write a book about all of the origami foods and recipes that I have
been developing over the years. Be patient, though, I will be writing
"Advanced Origami 2" first. The folded candy will be in the cookbook.

I once served a "folded" meal for Lillian Oppenheimer, during the years
that she lived on West 11th street; that's what got me started
experimenting with folding food."

This is one I'm going to have to buy just for that bird! Anyone know when the release date is?

I think it told me I should have it shipped by October 16th. But maybe it's released before then.

With the 4 models on the cover it looks more like Advanced Origami 1.1 to me.

The turtle design is in his first book, the butterfly (a not that detailed version) too. The bird is just a bird...

Well, perhaps LaFosse surprises us when the book comes out :)

Well, the butterfly is much different. I should think that it is made quite differently than the Advanced Origami one. The bird is exquisitely beautiful and different than any origami bird I have seen-it is just a bird like Kamiya's Ancient Dragon is just a dragon.

Indeed, those models are all different. I doubt he'd just add the same models in again. His alligator is also in the book.

Well, to be perfectly clear, I would imagine the structure of all his butterflies are somewhat similar, which is the basis for his book on butterflies :). I don't see anything wrong with that; I think part of what he wants people to do with the butterfly is to take the "basic" one and modify it to make their own unique butterfly.

As to what other models are included... well, Mr. LaFosse himself is somewhere whereabouts :D... one could try asking him very politely...

Are you kidding? I am plannig to give this book to my brother as a Christmas gift (I am sure, that he cannot read this - he do not know English), I gave to him also first Advanced origami. If that alligator is inside, my brother will be just crazy...
