Well, i can turn every model i fold into a ball of paper, a flying ball of paper, a burning ball of paper, a swimming ball of paper ect...

Sorry but to be serious i think you have just tesselated a nice flexible pattern to play with.

Super tessellated chain??? Multi use chain??? Transforming corrugation??? You could try combining those words, something like Super Multi use Transforming tesselated/corrugated chain

I seem to remember there were a number of folding sequences that could be made to represent a number of finished objects along the way. Borrowng terminology from these, perhaps "Kaleidoscope Multiform" would be an appropriate choice?

Also, this reminds me somewhat of the troublewit, some reference might be made to those.

Some of the forms are a cone, so why not the erupting origami volcano?

It's official - the new name is:

Origami Kaleidoscopic Twister

Make sure to watch this video to the end - there is a new "surprise" use for this model.

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/o9ijnlaiaqY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed>

Each twisters is made from one rectangular sheet - the video begins with stop motion of one twister in different positions

Sara Adams made a video of how to fold the twister.

Hope you all enjoy
