Heart Box help

So forgive me if this is a horribly simple problem and I'm just being stupid, but I can't seem to get past step five of this

Well, I think you mean step 6 of the instructions, the squash fold. But if you don't mean step six I'll try to explain it both of them.
Step five is jst a valley fold. Just fold down at the intersection of the diagonal fold and the vertical one.
Step six is a squash fold. The best thing that I can tell you, without being able to post any pictures, is to follow the creases exactly. Actually, i think you have to precrease those folds becuase I don't see them in the instructions. I may be able to post pictures later, but for now I hope that helps you.
