I have a friend who has been into origami for years, but lately she has been cut off from the internet and she's usually stuck at home so I'm trying to help her out. She has, in the past, folded origami with a semi-thick metallic mesh paper, usually copper color. Wherever she got it no longer supplies mesh paper, and she is looking for basically the same thing but in gold. I believe she had 6"x6" square sheets, and it was pretty thick, but thin enough to be folded (not thin like fabric or cloth however). If anyone could point me to an online store which sells something like this, I would greatly appreciate it. Sorry if I lack proper terminology, but if you want to shoot me some questions for specifics, I can relay them to her and see what she says.

I really appreciate any help or direction I can get.

Sasugabooks sells 6" colour mesh, not sure where you could get golden mesh though.

You could always just use spray-paint for the color.

Thanks for the responses. Through that last link I found an online vendor and gave the phone number to my friend. Turns out that the company does have gold mesh, it's about $3500 for a six inch square sheet. I think she's going to explore other options now ^o^

wow, expensive origami!

Gold has the advantage of not oxidizing (altho it can get dirty). But you can get similar colors in copper or brass. There may be other golden colored alloys that are much cheaper.... if your friend is persistent.
