Hah, shoot, that thing's pretty fricken awesome. It's nice to see a design like that, something more than just an animal. I like this horse design a lot more than 2008 one.

jeoss, yup, awesome. wondering if the horse and the rider are from one sheet of paper or more. looks to be at least two.

Yea, I think using less than two sheets for this design would have been a lot more trouble than its worth. I wonder how much money he made off of this commission. Maybe just a few flats of beer, haha.

haha, i certainly hope it's much more than a few flats of beer!

btw, yamaguchi wrote about this commission in his blog. here is the direct link :

the horse is from one sheet of square paper while the rider is made from 3 sheets. the papers were specially made and printed for this commission.

amazing, that's a chilean wine!

I know the winehouse. It's a very old and traditional one, but not really the best :P

the model is beautiful, I think I prefer it over the wine hahaha

What a great piece! The horse looks like it's about to jump off the screen! I doesn't look like his 2008 version: it's far better. Thanks for the link.

I think it's basically the same as his 2008 horse, but he changed the mane so that the layers are not spread out to the max, thus having overlap to use sink folds to get the different triangles. If that makes any sence...
Great horse anyway.
I didnt really like his 2008 horse, the one thing about the 2008 horse is the length of the legs - he got that right 100%. Now with the mane upgraded, I think it's a marvelous horse.

I must say, it's an amazing piece!
Definitely much better than the other version (it looked a bit ugly but a good model).
Also, imagine it jet black, it would make it look like a black knight!
Always a Satoshi Kamiya fan!
Keep on trying, it will work.
