The Lost Montroll Turtle

I met Mr. Montroll at the Origami USA Convention in 1994 and he had an early version of North American Animals with him, which a small class got to fold things from (including me.) There was a turtle in it that I really enjoyed making, the shell was neat as it wrapped around and locked together on the underside. When the book was finally published, the turtle was absent and I've been wondering about it ever since. It's also possible that it was a Fumiaki Kawahata contribution, but I'm not sure.
Does anyone know of any John Montroll turtle that was never published in any Dover book? It's also not in my Origami USA Annual Collections from '91, '94, '95, or '96. I used to have contact information for Mr. Montroll but have lost it through the years.
