Just recently i have found some very nice paper from an art store in canberra (eckerslys, civic).
I have found two different varieties of paper both with very nice properties.
One of them is, I think, rice paper bonded to a very thin layer of plastic, which are sold at 70 cents a sheet, 50cm by 60 cm.
This paper is ideal for tessellations and test folds of models
It does not produce a nice result, but all steps can be done very easily(eg. ancient dragon or bahamut) and is great for learning.
The other is a chiri rice paper sold for $4.20 a sheet 70ish by 90ish cm.
the rice paper is excellent, very crisp and thin.
both also produce very nice results when backcoated with foil, something like non-wrinkly, fairly thick tissue foil.
So if you live in canberra(or are visiting) these papers are definitly worthwile to fold. 8)
