Re: Monthly Folding Challenge: April 2014
Damn, was hoping for first entry!!
I call this 'Turning your wrongs into rights!' meaning learn from your mistakes.
It's rather simplistic but fits the theme rather well I think. I'll make a video tutorial if I'm in top 3
Details:
I used 1 sheet of dual sided 6" paper, Red/Green
Only made from folding

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but if you were displaying contrast, wouldn't the model have to show contrast or colour changes on the one side of the paper, instead of it just being different when you look at the other side. For me, a more appropriate model would be:
Sorry if I'm wrong, that's just my train of thought.

@Rosugamer,
I think that is for the judge to decide. My model which was featured for example shows contrast if you flip it around.

Correct, I know that, which is why I started my post with "Forgive me if I"m wrong."chesscuber98 wrote:@Rosugamer,

However, I think it is a bit cheap to have just a heart with a colour on one side and a different colour on the other. On your design, which I like very much, there are separate colour changes on both sides of the paper, instead of a simplistic colour change that relies on both sides of the paper to be a colour change.

@1alexm
Interesting design! Nice idea
At the model with the two red and white hearts: I like this design untill I saw it in the forum. But I think it fits better to color change then to the theme of contrasts. I think if the heart designed by Swapil would have the colors black and white it would show two sides of a human heart. And that fits perfect to the theme
But as I said. I think the most important is that we have fun, that everyone has the chance to become creative and better by designing own models.
At last... sorry if my english isn't that good and I maybe did not choosed the best words
Best

Hmm first of all I think this is a fun challenge. Some time ago I was in an authors forum and there where challenges and tasks too. The most important rule was "If you're not sure whether it fits the theme, the answer is allways yes because it's a an exercise, for fun and for become better" So my opinion is that every entry where the participant think it fits and design a model by himself with creativity... there is no problemRosugamer wrote:Correct, I know that, which is why I started my post with "Forgive me if I"m wrong."chesscuber98 wrote:@Rosugamer,

I agree @chesscuber98, I believe colour change to be a contrast in its own right, and that your model fits the theme!chesscuber98 wrote:@Rosugamer,

I would like to submit a more advanced another entry if I can?
Model name: Mixed emotions
Contrast themes: Up vs down/Friendliness vs unfriendliness
Details: 12" single sheet of paper, purple and white florescent design, you just turn it upside down and your perspective of it should change like an illusion, stands up.
(If its hard to make out the one on the left is meant a small man with his arms stretched out in front of some magical background layer, and the one on the right the small mans face turns into a nose, arms turn into eyes etc.)
I tried folding a horse but got stuck so kept free folding till it ended up like that
