As next year will be goat / ram's year in the Chinese zodiac, I am looking for origami instructions for a relatively realistically-looking model of this animal.
I have seen a few models by Yoshizawa Akira, Maekawa Jun, Kasahara Kunihiko or John Montroll (amongst others), but they are "simple-looking" (even though many of them need a lot of work to be satisfying!).
Do you know of a diagrammed* model that could be what I'm looking for?
Something which looks like this one from CP by Horiguchi Naoto would be perfect of course, but if you know of something, please tell me.
Or, as another option, can a regular sheep be used in place of a goat / ram for a Chinese zodiac related fold?
*: I can't manage to decipher non-basic CPs yet, so...

You could fold my goat. Diagrams are on my flickr. Not sure if it is "complex" enough.

Thanks! It looks nice, I'll definitely fold it this week-end to see if it looks "complex" enough.

Looking forward too see your fold. Use some thin paper!

Here is a quick trial fold of your model, using a 25 cm, 50 g/m² square of brown wrapping paper:
(I just notice I gave that goat an outside nose... o_O)
Indeed, the small triangle in the neck makes it quite thick.
I had a minor problem with step 47, because step 45 locked the ear: it could not be folded back down as much as in your instructions (or did I miss something?).
As a result, I think it looks like large eyebrows. ^_^
Thanks for sharing this model, the flow of the folding is fun (have you been inspired by John Montroll and Eric Joisel? A few sequences made me think of them). And it probably looks "complex" enough for my purpose, so I'll fold it again later with good papers!

The original model was slightly different, because when I wanted to diagram the model I couldn't figure out what I did. So adjusted some stuff. Haven't folded the model myself for over year. And these are the first diagrams I have ever made so there might be some mistakes. Anyway, I think you made a great fold of the model.

Don't worry about it, the diagram is great; it's almost a finishing / modeling thing only.
Of course when I fold it with a better paper, I'll post it here too (that won't be before a couple of weeks though).

Thanks, I'll try that one too when I have some time.
