Hi, My girlfriends sister is about to have a baby boy, and they have a bit of a ship/boat thing going for him so I thought I might contribute with an origami ship or a boat. I have seen crawfords ship, and while I appreciate that it was ground breaking I was wondering if there was anything more recent (apart from Brian Chan's "Attack of the Kracken" which is probably not appropriate for a new born). I am comfortable with any diagram and can generally muddle my way through most CPs (sometimes with a bit of help). Any Ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I remember there being various yachts from different artists, but I can't seem to get to the origami database to check that out right now ... the site seems to be down.

I like Shumakov's Toy Boats, you can see them at: http://www.oriland.com/store/content.as ... hall=ships

They are very easy to fold and looks very nice, so I encourage you trying to get the diagrams for them, or somebody who could teach it to you.

I have just found that full diagrams for Crawford's ship are available in Google books for free. I think that it is legal, because google always gets permission from the publisher before posting them. If everyone thinks it's ok, I'll post a link.

That's a good joke. Google doesn't get permission first, they are scanning all books they can get and put them online. If you are the publisher you can try to fight against it but the chances to win are rather minor.

hmm... I think's its probably more like the fight against the windmills. I remember the long fight of the GEMA with youtube and the GEMA won the case... there's always a way to win if you can just afford it law is a prostitue and serves those who offer the most money, always was... always will be.

Since it's available for free on the net on a big source like Google-Books, I think it should be ok if you link to it. I just wanted to point out that Google doesn't care about copyright.
