Newbie From Long Beach,CA

Post by Al- »

Mods I didn't know where to place this so I thought I'd introduce myself and ask my question at the same time.

I'm Al from Long Beach,CA. Everyone once and a while I'll get the craving for some origami. So I'd thought I join here. But I come asking for help for a specific flower. I like many people love the movie District 9. I've made one piece from the movie for myself

(http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d115/ ... 060219.jpg),

but now want to make the flower that Wikus was holding at the end of the movie. That's where you guys might be able to help. I have not run into a clear picture that would help. These are the pictures I have found.

And here (http://www.nvsm.com.cn/wp-content/uploa ... _thumb.jpg).

I was thinking of making this out of card stock paper using an origami flower like this

However, without a clear picture of the actual flower I can only guess which flower to use. So if you have a better picture of the flower in question or a better origami flower I would greatly appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance,
Al

Hey, welcome to the site, hope you enjoy your stay.

I am also a great fan of District 9, great movie.

Maybe finding out what kind of flower it is, would help.

Also, that one piece you made for the movie, is that made out of paper?

thank you for the warm welcome. That's the difficult part trying to find a clear enough picture to distinguish what type of flower it is. I guess I'll wait till the Bluray comes out. I made the little statue out of foam board since the actual statues are 2 dimensional.

Thank you first of all :)

Quick update I was able to find additional screen caps of the movie. So if you know what type of flower or one that resembles it I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance Al

It looks to me as if it's... like a metal rose.
