Greetings to everyone at the forums! This is like an origami paradise!

I feel very happy to join you. I expect to learn a lot about origami and maybe offer some help.

I´ve known origami for quite some time, but only knew there were really complex ones two years ago. I wanted to give a chocobo-related gift to my best friend on her birthday, but everything I found was rather expensive or unaffordable to me... Until I googled 'chocobo' and found a picture of Satoshi Kamiya-san's Yellow bird. I didn't even know how to fold a crane! But I managed to get diagrams for it and it took 1 entire month to figure it out! (yes, i planned the gift waaay sooner) I practiced a bit and folded two chocobos, which were put in an origami box. She loved it so much ^^

Since then, I've been getting my hands on whichever interesting models I find.

PS.: I did learn how to do a Tsuru later, when a friend throwed one at my table at the university. I disassembled it and the rest worked like doing it from a CP. =P

Here is the second Divine Dragon I've ever folded:

However, Japan embraced origami and, in most peoples’ minds, the art is distinctly Japanese. In its traditional form, a square piece of paper is formed into an endless variety of shapes, using a small number of different folds. Cutting and pasting are not part of the traditional practice.
