OUSA Convention 2008: Who is going?

Hi all, its about that time again. June 27th - 30th is the NYC convention. They've yet to send out the registration, but does anyone think they'll be going? I'm hoping to attend again this year (thanks to the stimulus package). More or less this thread is so we forum members can meet and identify each other. So, who is coming, hmm? =p

Quentin is going? Darn, another reason to make me sad for not being able to go  It is too expensive for me to travel again this year (I went to OUSA07). Anyway, good luck to everybody and please take lots of pictures ofr us who are not attending.

Unfortunately I can't make it this year. I had planned to, but often things come otherwise then you would like them to be. I'm attending the German convention instead.

I will most likely come, if the date doesn't interfere with my finals/AP tests/ SAT. I'll be the quiet one in the corner folding by myself. Won't be hard to find me

Hmmm... 14 thousand kilometers away... I don't think I can make it.. :P
And like Brimstone, I would like to encourage everyone (with cameras) to take lots of pictures and share with us unlucky people the experience.. thanks! :D

Well, it seems that my chances are really slim this year, so I guess I'll try my best to make it next year. Seeing as I don't have a job (unlike a lot of my friends, who I doubt have nearly as much afterschool activities as me), I can't exactly raise much money. I figured that I'd have enough to fly up and back for one day, but I don't think I'll bother even doing that.
Sadly, I won't be sending any models this year, seeing as I still don't have mine back and it wasn't exactly a good first experience for me. I also saw the pictures from the convention, and they were really crumpled up, which I'd rather avoid with a lot of the things that I've folded lately.
So, I'll keep my hopes up for next year.

I'll be there!

On the name-tag with the sailboat, I always draw the skull and crossbones on the sail.

It will be nice to meet you all, what names are you going by? It'd be nice if we had something to add to our badges to denote belonging to the forum (or O-List as well).

Last time I took about 700 photos, but by the time I got them uploaded a few others already had sets out. I do have some of them in my DeviantArt scraps though. I'll probably take a few, maybe not quite so many. I enjoyed helping set up the model stands, I think I'll volunteer again this year too, a good time to see whats new without a crowd and get to meet the creators.

Maybe someone here could design a simple model (like the OUSA sailboat) that we could all slip into our name tags. That might be the easiest (and classiest  ) way to go.

What about writing your Forum nicknames on the buttons? That might help as well.

Haha, I always ignore the easy solutions don't I. That would probably be the best way to identify ourselves.

How about planning to meet in a specific place during the convention at a specific time, preferably early in the convention like Friday night or Saturday morning?

I'll be there

If you see a lot of tessellated grids, I may be lurking nearby.
