Best foil paper

Post by phillipcurl »

I think I have discovered what easily could be the best foil paper out there. The only thing that it doesn't work well with is complex insects (i know i use this one a lot) like Kamiya's hercules beetle as it is somewhat thicker than tissue-foil. It also looks really nice. I am currently working Ronald Koh's ankylosaurus with it, and it works really well. One of the best aspects of it is that you can work with it like normal paper, but you can shape it like foil.
Here is how to make it:
Get one sheet of tracing paper, preferred brand, and then set it on a smooth surface. Cardstock paper works well. Smother it with glue of some type, and the put foil on the back. Let dry for 10-15 minutes, and its ready to use!
Try it out, tell me what you think.

The minute I put glue on my tracing paper, it wrinkles up like a raisin. What kind of glue are you using?

And: do you have any pics of folds made from this foil paper?

I am using spray adhesive, and i am also using the brand canson. Andrey Ermakov has a picture of something made from it, and I am uploading on in a few days, once I finish it. just don't use it for insects.

probably so. I have never used baking paper though, so i am not sure how it performs to compare them together.
