Re: What is the average age of people on this site
Ah I remember dial up very well; spent 5-10 minutes trying to connect, about half an hour loading a 10 minute video, and countless more trying to download something, all while being yelled at by my mom for hogging the phone line. I'm 20 over here so based on the responses on the last few pages it seems that I'm on the older side of the forum.

Oh the memories. I lived in rural Georgia at the time, so it took an hour to load a 2 minute video. Someone needed to make a call? forget it. At least online gaming wasn't huge back then, probably with good reason.
Its quite weird being so young, yet being older than the majority of users, isn't it?

I would rather fail trying than fail without trying....

Yea it is very weird. Makes me feel old. You lived in rural Georgia? I did too! (well not too rural, I was a bit north of Atlanta) I first got a computer before the internet had spread much and I can tell you playing those simple games with friends were some of the best memories I have.

It does, haha. I was born in Atlanta but moved to the outskirts of Savannah in 1997 or 1998. I moved back to Atlanta about 5 years ago, in Senoia. You still live around here? There is an origami group (ARF - Atlanta Regional Folders) that I have been trying to participate in recently, it might be of interest to you to join it and meet some of us. There are a lot of people on the forum who live in Atlanta, surprisingly.

Yea, I make myself feel like I'm in my 70's sometimes. I still can't type.... I think it has taken me ten minutes to type this post, haha.Benlewisorigami wrote:Haha reminiscing Phillip XD I learned how to type one year in school (homeschooled..) and now I'm expert at it. I've made some calculations and the Average age is about 28.5 - Seems steady as older members age and new young members joins.
[ADDED]
So, it seems that as soon as the number was posted all reasons for this thread died

Oh well, there must be good reasons for it.phillipcurl wrote:Hello there, menschenfeind! Welcome back, its been the same with me believe it or not. Poor Anna, all of us other moderators have gotten much less active.
As for me I have been busy at uni and whenever I get to come home I spend my time with my family and my girlfriend.
Somehow I have managed to fold a bit, but not complex things, just small creations of my own, I hope to be a bit more active now.
I also remember promising to give diagrams of my kitten design, which I will hopefully upload to flickr soon
