Favorite Models To Fold
Hey guys. So I'm just starting a little topic so you can say what your favorite models to fold are. It can be models from a certain designer, models from CP or diagram, types of origami " representationals, tessellations, action origami, etc." So yea, have fun and I'll have fun reading your responses

Re: Favorite Models To Fold
I like Quentin Trollip's best. He is good at creating models that are not commonly done(like his oryx), but he is also good at making common subjects (like his rhino) stand out from others. Most importantly though, his designs are fun to fold, and never bore me with folding, which is uncommon to these days. He also doesn't aim for hyper-realism, which can be boring and clunky sometimes.

Re: Favorite Models To Fold
My favourite model to fold is definitely the Traditional Gondola or "Chinese Junk" which I learnt from one of Robert Harbin's old books.
The final step where it suddenly becomes three dimensional is always a joy to experience.

I love Kamiya Satoshi's and Lang's Models.
Kamiya because his are similar to certain bases and he repeats himself over several models, making designing easier to learn.
Lang, because no matter how annoying it is it crease, I LOVE box pleating. Soo fun.

Re: Favorite Models To Fold
To fold I love Komatsu's folding sequences, they are amazingly fun to fold but really difficult to decipher. I also love how they are almost perfect and require little or no shaping.
Models that are my favourite but i cannot fold would be that of
Eric Joisel : His works are so original and creative and conveys so much expression. Similar case with Soma Cruz.
Giang Dinhh's work may seem simple but they are not. With the shaping ivolved I think only Mr. Dinhh can fold his models to look as good as they are.
Sunburst: I never knew what we could achieve from box pleating until i saw his work. His models leap over the weaknesses of box pleating and give an form at the end.

I would also like to add that Kamiya's Pegasus is both very easy AND mostly all girls in general love it.
Just saying.

Re: Favorite Models To Fold
I also love Kamiya models, but my favorite models for the moment are Kade Chan's Fiery Dragon and the Kawasaki rose.
Re: Favorite Models To Fold
John Montroll's Blue Shark has a fun sequence. Also his Zebra and Triceratops. Kamiya's T-rex is fun too.
Re: Favorite Models To Fold
I think the Chef Rat by Nguyen Hung Cuong is a really nice model to fold.
Re: Favorite Models To Fold
At the moment, I lean toward folding Roman Diaz Bujo, Komatsu's Horned Owl, and anticipate launching an exhaustive study of Bernie Peyton' s Owlete .
Apparently, I'm in an owl phase at present, but frequently will veer off in various appealing directions.

Wow! A lot of responses! That's awesome. I love folding all kinds of models.. none in particular
Kamiya's models have fun sequences and so do the others. When I'm with friends, I usually fold a Kawasaki rose and give it to a girl.. haha yea. Origami DOES impress girls if you didn't already know XD
I would rather fail trying than fail without trying....
