Ashtray

Post by RamblerMann66 »

I made an ashtray last week at work. Is there any way I could make it use-able? I was thinking that I could glue a piece of tin foil to it.

Why not just fold it out of metal?

You can get fairly thin copper sheets at craft and hobby stores.

Back when I smoked - we call it the Pleistocene - I used to make origami ashtrays. If the ashtray is on a sufficiently conductive surface, concrete or marble, say, the heat of a stubbed out cigarette will go through the paper into the surface and not even scorch the paper. Otherwise, fill it part way with salt or sand. This will diffuse the heat and extinguish the cigarette.

This sounds like a great idea - I'll make one for my dad now!

How much do 20 fags cost in England now? It was around a pound, when I lived there.
