Excellent Stuff.
Any plans for any additions to the family? Perhaps a fully bridled shire horse, I think the proportions are different with them.
I have posted my order for Mr. Trollips booklet today. Particularly looking forward to the chameleon and 'Scream' mask.
I'm also ordering Mr. Corries Animal Origami 2.

Thank you all!

InsomniacFolder, thank you. I have been thinking (and designed) a Shire horse, but never knew what their breed was called, so I called it a Budweiser horse!
Now that I know it's called a Shire Horse, I can do better research! Thank you again!!
I'll work it a bit more and post when it's done. It seems that the hair over the hooves will look nice colour-changed! Cool!
And thanx for the interest in my booklet. I am also still waiting for a copy to see how it came out!

Hi Ondrej
Budweiser is an American beer, and on their commercials they have those horses that pull the carriages with the beer kegs on!
But the horse breed is called Shire
It has massive hooves and hair around the hooves and really thick legs.
I somehow don't think they were made for running!!

InsomniacFolder,
Hope you enjoy Animal Origami 2. I'm originally from Maidenhead, and I was in Windsor at Easter.

I just received copies of my BOS booklet, and they did a great job, especially Rikki Donachie who did the outlay and editing. Thank you to all involved!

I'm not an equestrian, but I think that the Budweiser horses are called Clydesdales.... I don't know if that is a different breed (yet another horse to do !) or just a different name.

FWIW,

Yup. Shire horses are bred for long hard days work ploughing fields and pulling loads.
The British Economy in the 18th & 19th Century relied in no small part on those sturdy beasts.
They can often be found as attractions at rural village fairs here, the kids are impressed at their sheer size.

There are about 8 - 10 pictures that this Web page cycles through. In one of them you can see a woman riding a horse with a long, luxurious tail. I read elsewhere that the tail is very dangerous for working horses, because it can easily get caught in the wagon, therefore newborns are cropped immediately in most cases.

(I don't want this to digress from Origami, the article gives both opinions.)

You are talking about 2 different beers-Budweiser (Anheuser-Busch) is an American beer, and Budweiser Budvar is a Czech beer. I only know this because I was in Europe for 10 days this month-what a coincidence!

Yeah, I think this is a match made in heaven...beer and origami!!!

I'd like to try the Czech beers, the only one I've had so far was a Pilsner Urqueil (if I remember correctly). Europe has so many great beers!
But if I had to talk about beer I'd probably get carried away, so I'll stop here.
Thanx to all for your info.
I see now that the American beer "Miller" is made by the South African Breweries! It's difficult to keep track of all of them. So many beers, so little time!

But back to the point, I think the horse I was thinking of is the Shire horse. I will fold one when I get decent paper for it! Or try anyway.
