i'd like to see his wasp, always been one of my favourite models of his
also his cerberus, really like that too

as for a second book.. in his first book he said he has no motive to diagram his models, and the only reason he did make the book he did was for kids like him when he was younger. i quote here

"i am writing this book for kids around the world of origami. kids, which i was one of, certainly would like to fold those models like i create. to do this, they need diagrams. that's why. i myself did fold various diagrammed models which my predecesoors created, and i have learned a lot from them. i would like to give something to the people around the world of origami more then i got from them. i could not have done what i have done without them"

the second sentence and the second last sentence leeds to believe he has accomplished his goal and will have no desire/motive/need to make a second book

 :x :(

Well, his fans would certainly like to see another book with more of his models diagrammed. And by "would certainly like" I mean "really really really want." He could show more models and thus more techniques and thus make it easier for more people to learn more about how he folds. His goal is one that can't be 'accomplished'. It will always be there until everyone out there is satisfied-which won't happen unless he stops designing

a second SK book is almost inevitable, mostly because it will probably be very much like the first in the sense that he already has many models diagrammed in disparate locations (mostly in the tanteidan collections as well as the monthly issues). so a second book, like the first, would act as an anthology by bringing several together and then adding probably 2-3 new ones that aren't diagrammed anywhere else. it's just a matter of when.

Models

This is my suggestion for the models.
See my new topic "Kamiya Satoshi's next book (works)" for details. (is locked now :()

All are models we can't buy diagrams for now. Not even in the Tanteidan Convention and Magazine Issue and other books.
"Only" Crease Pattern of some models are available.

Angel (2000)
Styracosaurus (2000)
Deinonychus (2001)
Pteranodon (2001)
Jackalope (2001)
Wasp 2.5 or 2.6 (2002)
Sea Turtle (2002)
Phoenix 3.5 (2002)
Hercules Beetle (2002)
Darwins Beetle (2003)
Caribu 2.2 (2003)
Ant (2004)
Cerberus (2005)
Cicada Nymph (2005)
Lyrebird (2005)
Spinosaurus: (2005)
Hermit Crab (2005)
Butterfly TH (2005)
Ryuzin 3.5 (2005)
Veltail Angelfish (2006)
Horse (2008)

Quite the list there.
I really wouldn't have any problem with seeing any of those models in a new book.
If he were to write a book including all of those models:
1) I'd immediately defecate the moment I'd learn of it's existence   .
2) The price would be immense. I'd buy it for $400 or $500 though, haha.
3) We probably wouldn't see another book from Kamiya for a decade if not longer, haha.

You're right, but it's difficult to say how long the diagram of a model will be and especially the time to make the diagram
So of course, with those models they could easy make two or more books.

But it would be very nice if they'll publish a book with new models which we can't get now.

Alan, you forgot about Cerberus! Image But I don't think he will ever diagram the wasp. It is a predominantly box-pleated model, and it's almost impossible to diagram them properly. You would be better off folding from the cp. The same goes for Ryuzin. Not only is it box-pleated, but can you imagine how many steps it will have???? LOOK AT THE HEAD! It's frikkin' complicated! He might publish the cp, which he has already drawn, but I don't think he'll make diagrams for it anytime soon.

By the way, nice selection of his models! They are easily his greatest works!
I've fallen down, and I can't get up.

Hmmm.... I don't know where you got that info, but in my copy of this book there are no Cerberus diagrams (unfortunately). As far as I know there is only a CP in one of the Tanteidan magazines.
So long and keep folding ^_^

Any thing else:

http://www.folders.jp/g/2005/0503.html
It looks boxpleated, so it'll probably never be diagrammed :( . I just like it because satoshi already has dozens of fantasy creatures, rare animals, and extinct dinosaurs. I think its good to have something more common. And I love the wings.

http://www.folders.jp/g/2005/0508.html
It's a beautiful model, and even though its fantasy its at least not so fancy. It's not covered in spikes and horns and fur, and I can only see nine appendages (2 beak, 2 leg, 2 wing, 3 tail). Its somehow nice to have a smooth body, instead of spikes and pleats and feathers. I've gotten to the point where I look at his models and say "Another spiky bird thing!"

I think it will be too tired for Satoshi to make diagrams of Ryu Zin.

If he did make diagrams, the book would probably cost too much for anyone to afford Image
