Origami Tanteidan Convention book # 14- Models ?

Post by gordigami »

Yep, thanks for info , bethnor !
I see that Aug. 15 th is the shipping date, I just mailed in my international postal money order this morning .
Model identification should be showing up soon .
Now, if we could only obtain issue #8 and earlier somehow, I'd be a
happy man !

According to Kamiya's website, カブトムシ (Kabutomushi) will be in the 14th Tanteidan convention book. Just what we need--another samurai helmet beetle…

Afraid that I'd have to agree, insects are already plentiful & appeal to a limited group .
Having said that, Vol. # 14 will still be a must-have book, for its' other models .
We're all beneficently doomed to addiction to the Tanteidan Magazines & Convention books !
Can't wait ...

If I remember right, the Convention was this weekend and Origamihouse does not even have a cover picture of the book so you should not count on receiving the Convention book before next month.

a betting person would guess that he is "saving" that model for a book.

wow, i was looking through a flickr stream of the convention, and kamiya has a beautiful minotaur. i love the slight abstraction (i.e., instead of a completely human figure, it is more of a fusion between an ape and a bull, with thinner upper arms and legs). when i saw it, i was made especially tired of all the insects, the folding process of which i'm not in the least curious about anymore, as most of them seem to involve making lands marks at odd angles and box pleating to make super thin limbs.

Thanks for the photo of the cover !
As expected, several "bug projects" are apparently included .
( I'm destined to get some flak from bug devotees, but that's okay...)
Still looking forward to the complete listing of the other models .
Should be coming up soon .

Thanks for the support , bethnor .
I, too, appreciate the challenge of designing and folding insects . I will very likely fold some in the future .
However, after a while, they all kinda look the same, lots of legs & plates.
For me, much of the enjoyment comes from the diversity of subject selection , available from around the world.
