International postal order cost me a little under $4 to Japan. The magazine is a great investment, in my opinion.

As a clarification, you would receive this current volume 19, so issues 109 through 111. To get older volumes you have to pay for each volume as a set, so an additional $50 for each year you want, back to whatever volume they still have available. This may have already been understood, but I could see how the previous question might get misinterpreted.

It's something to do with Japan not accepting credit cards, and no one trusts mailed checks. What you're doing is basically sending them a money order, but in their currency (¥ yen). Remember, JOAS/Origami House isn't some huge company. You can send Origami House cash too, but who trusts sending cash in the mail? Alternately you can contact June Sakamoto who acts as an American liaison to Origami House and JOAS. She can handle checks and Paypal. If you send me a PM I might be able to dig up her email address and send it to you.

If international postal money order and cash are unappealing options then I highly recommend using PayPal through June Sakamoto (thanks Anna and Daydreamer for passing on her email address).

I received my first three issues with 2 weeks of my paypal payment and I couldn't be happier.

You can try scanning it to a computer first. Otherwise, you could redraw it by hand or computer.
