Joisel Exhibition at OrigamiHouse

Post by mike352 »

Here's a link to the (just ended) exhibition Eric Joisel had at the Gallery OrigamiHouse:

It features some models I had never seen before of his.

Enjoy! :D

Vikings were brand new to me
Incredible.
It seems they are about to move :o

Joisel really gives life to his human origami figures. :)

Thank you for sharing

Joisel never ceases to amaze me. His work has such a unique character to it. It is not nearly imitated by anything that I have seen. I would love to see his work in person-it must be even more amazing!

The only book by Joisel that is being published is the British Origami Society's booklet of his masks:

Joisel - 3D Masks and Busts

It is quite worth it to buy it, though it's difficult to execute similar results as him ...

What an exhibit! I would've loved to attended. Such amazing works. In agreement with Jonnycakes, Joisel's style has such a unique quality to it. His background as a sculptor shows up clearly in his work! I love the new version of his rooster.

(By the way does anyone know what paper he used?) The majority of the figures seemed to be folded out of this beautiful off-white paper. I love how cleanly everything is folded. Bravo Joisel!
