Some time ago at school we had to held a speech accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation where the subject was free to choose. I took Origami, but otherwise than explaining the different folding steps or history I choose to tell about the different styles and techniques (puristic, wetfolding, modular, tesselations and tesselated faces...) and show examples for everything. When I reached the end the class was absolutely silent. It was interesting to see their stunning eyes. Afterwards everyone promised me that they wouldn't have thought that something like this was possible (I showed them pictures of RjuZin and Attack of the Kraken explaining that they where folded from one square only without cuts), but unfortunately no one wanted to try it on their own. Everyone said they wouldn't have the patience...
Great story Anna: I've had a similar experience. I've lectured at a few different schools on origami. The greatest audience experience I ever received was when I did a keynote presentation on contemporary origami art at the Dana Hall School. Their jaws were on the floor! XD It was so great to see the reactions. They seemed to thoroughly enjoy the work presented.
