A New PassionOrigami website : Your wishes

Post by TERRY Nicolas »

Hi all

Since some years, I've tried to update my old html website passionorigami.com using a more powerful and actual php website.

After some tests, we are now close to finish the engine and we start to add new option.

I want this website become a more communitary website. In this way, these are some details of the upcoming option :

The website will have 3 functions :

#1 News page

Becoming a member of the website, you could add yourself a news (update of your own page or any other news you found)
Use different icons to classify Album, Blog, Website, diagram ...etc
Filter to obtain for example only the new diagram's available on internet

#2 Gallery of authors

Each author will have a better gallery
Classification of their Artwork with filter and search option (example : show me all mamals of Diaz, or show me all Complex CP of birds)
Each author could update easily his own gallery himself.

#3 Diagrams and search option

Diagrams more easy to obtain
Powerful search function to find diagrams and CP.

Of course, some others things will be availble like RSS

_____

This is the main options.

Do you have others wishes ? I will be happy to share with you any other ideas and talk to you about new functions.

If you have other wishes, please tell me ! It's still time to modify the engine and add new possibilities !

Hope to read your feedbacks and thanks for your help.

Nicolas

Sounds pretty good! :)
I like it just the way it (purportedly) is.

Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.

Could you add a webpage of RSS feeds from other origami websites/blogs, similar to Eileen Tan's here:
http://spinflipper.com/origami/feed.php ?

There really are hundreds of origami RSS feeds on the internet, and it might get very cluttered, but if it could be organized somehow, maybe by topic or country, etc, it would be nice to have instant access to origami updates. One would never be bored waiting for the newest news.

I have collected a very large number of origami RSS feed links, too many to keep organized in my feed reader at the moment, actually, and I've been wanting to see them organized on a webpage for a while now.

What do you think?

Indeed, there is today too much blog, album and website origami. And even with a powerful reader RSS, we need too much time to check them

Your classification is a good idea and we might do that later.
However, for now, I think I will focus the news page only on specific news : new creations (no update about folder who fold the last Kamiya for example). And among all the new creation, only the best of !

The goal is to have only the best news in new model, not all the update in origami world

That's why I will not probably add an automatic RSS feed likeEileen Tan's great site. I will probably validate each addition to be sure to have only the best news !
