Not only Origami and Origami Artists

Post by reemul »

Hi all I am Mauro Pucci, an Italian Origamist and a web programmer.
Maybe someone knows my site and my origami models.
It is possible to find them here http://www.origamimauro.it

I am searching to realize a site that allows to all people that like me have a Passion for Origami or for any other art or passion to share for free his experiences. Origamimauro opens to all those people that think about this like me, and offers free space on the site for this initiative.
I have created a new section on my site called users. On this section all the users registered on the Forum may upload personal photos, use a personal blog and in next future will can upload the instructions of their works. The photos section allows users to upload parent photos for each photo so that in this way it is possible to have linked and connected images and more order.
Orimauro is a completely free site that wants to give voice and space to all the artists that wants to condivide for free their works.
The link of this section of my site is :

Looks like Nicolas Terry has some competition! (His site here.)
My Flickr

Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.

It is complitely different. Nicolas Terry's site is Static. It is himself who upload photos of other origami outhors.

My idea is complitely different. Each artist may create his personal space and administrate it. It is you who use it. Each artist has a personal blog like on facebook, has a personal photo gallery like on flickr. The photo gallery is many more interesting than in flickr. On flickr there is a big confusion on understanding how photos are connected and it is easy to find the CP photo on page 5 and the folded model on page 27... On flickr it is even difficult to move beetween artists.

I overcome all these problemes and i have created a dinamic structure that allows artists to be easy find and well divided by category (Origami, kirigami, design...) Each Artist on his photo section may upload for example the CP of a model as a primary image and then upload other photos like children of the primary photo for example the folded model of the CP in different positions and the progressive step of a CP. This structure is easy to navigate, to understand, tu use and it is complitely free...
To understand better the power of connected pohotos look well these example please.

Exambple of CP, folded model and progressive CP folded

Example of model instructions and origami exibition
http://www.origamimauro.it/index.asp?Ut ... 2&inizio=1

The third part is still in progress will allow users to upload directly instructions to realize something like an origami model or a kirigami model or a painting or something else.
Than i would like to realize a fourth part about personal experiences and personal works each outhor may add.

I am a web programmer and it is me who realize this structure and is programming it. I listen to users questions and i am ready to realize new sections on request. I am ready to realize a real usefoul site where all the artists (Origami and other arts) may condivide thery knowledge in easy way. On other sites like facebook or flickr nobody listen to you...

But the only way to realize my little dream to create a really usefoul site for all the community and arists depends on the artists who must try to register and use it.
If people iare scared to try or people thinks it is a loose of time becouse doesn't wont even to try it nothing will never change...
