currently im in highschool charter program at a college. My friend introduced me to origami and knotology in middle school. My interests right now are in tesselations and modular origami. Currently im designing an origami module of an eastern dragon that im going to put in an art show. ill post pics when its done
one of the unique things about my highschool is that for me to graduate, I have to make a senior project. I was thinking of doing a project on origami and its application in mathematics and geometry. If anyone can give me any feedback, It will be greatly appreciated.
Mathematics and origami has been explored by quite a few different artists, Robert lang immediately jumps to mind but there are many others as well.
The PBS Documentary 'Between the Folds' has some scenes about the mathematics behind origami and there is a section in Origami Design Secrets with some optimization stuff for flap length and the like.
Check Robert Langs site and google around, you should be able to find some great resources!
