that's what I usually do.oz wrote:Don't just take one or two pictures either, take tens of pictures! On some of my models, I will take nearly thirty pictures with different lighting and angles, then weed through them to figure out which ones look the best. The joys of a digital camera...
If i edit them, for contrast, etc. I use Picasa, but that' what I usually don't do(add lighting) because all my photos have sufficient lighting.origamimasterjared wrote:And when you upload them to your computer, use some image editing software to lighten them up.

The brown bear is good, though the proportions could be tweaked abit. Otherwise, very good!
Josh, taking good photographs are not very hard, here are my tips.
-provide plenty of lighting. I usually shine lamp light directly above my model.
- Make your model atand up, even if you do it shamelessly. I do that pretty often. On many of my photos, you see a huge grill holding a bird up, or a pen trying to hold a thingy up. Even if it hides abit of your model, I feel that making your model stand is very important. Firstly, it does not make your model look as if it had been run over by a steamroller and secondly, it can aid you in the photogprahy, as at that angle, you can place your camera on a table.
-Use cool backgrounds. I find Unryuu, thai silk and crumpled paper to be very good choices. With heavy lighting and rich paper backgrounds, the light illuminate your model with a shade of colour that makes an so-so model stand out.
Hope this helps.
