I just treated myself to a discover pack at the origami shop and overall I was absolutely delighted with what I got. The only thing is all the tant paper which was nothing I was expecting. I guess it comes across to me as butcher paper with a little more texture and butcher paper regardless of texture for the most part is something I never fold with.
I want to like this paper but I can't seem to figure out what to fold with it. So far my impression hasn't been good and was wondering if you guys can post some pictures of models folded with this paper and some suggestions. If your wondering about my folding level I would call myself an high-intermediate.
Thanks for the help!
What to do with tant.

hi,
one of the best ways to answer your question is taping the word "tant" in the origami pool on flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/search/groups/?q= ... N01&m=pool
that would give you a good idea of what to fold.

Wow that is kind of irritating. We just discussed this on a thread on the same page and you didn't look. Tell me what you think:
DavidW wrote: Tant
Density: 78 gsm
Sizes available (cm): 7.5, 15, 25, 30.5, 35 (square)
Colors Available: many colors, same color both sides
Backcoating needed: takes a crease without additional sizing, but backcoating greatly helps with tearing due to fatigue
Suitable for wetfolding: yes
Best for: geometric models, tension folding
Worst for: complex models
Greatest strength: stiffness
Greatest weakness: fatigue, thickness
Availability: online through Kimscrane (US), Paperjade (US), The Fine Art Store (US), Origami Shop (FR)
Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. I'll remember that.peter365 wrote:hi,

I already figured out that much. Browsed through a couple pages looking for a thread specifically for tant (in the subject header).DavidW wrote:Wow that is kind of irritating. We just discussed this on a thread on the same page and you didn't look. Tell me what you think:

Which thread is this paper one that you're creating David? Is it not on a new thread?
