Taking care of your hands- tips/ suggestions?

General discussion about Origami, Papers, Diagramming, ...

Do you prepare yourself for folding or do you jump right in?

I meditate and prepare my mind/body/ and spirit to fold.

Taking care of your hands- tips/ suggestions?

Post by gordigami »

While I generally try to wash my hands before handling paper, to avoid transferring oils etc. , I also try to be aware that a sundry assortment of chemicals may or may not be used in the processing of various papers.
These chemicals may/may not include :
Formaldehyde
Ink/coloring agents
Ammonia
Chloride
Sodium hydroxide
Urea
Rosin compounds

Probably most precarious contact comes from handling carbonless paper, receipts etc.
Most likely not a bad idea to wash hands with soap & water after handling paper for an extended time.
May I wish success to all who cope with the mountains & valleys of Life,
with all its peaks & depths, as well as Origami .
