Please, use kami more often.

I like how you got the hands on the angel. Any protest of traditional flap-making gets thumbs-up by me.

Joshua, I like that angel. It's kinda ironic that you chose to design an angel on Halloween though
About your woes with kami,
1. if you have a hobbycraft store near you there is quite a big chance they will have kami there. in my local hobbycraft they sell a variety of origami papers, including normal kami, ( 10" and 6") japanese foil, ( 10" and 6"), various handmade washi including momi and chiyogami and mitsumampa, and other handmade papers such as lokta.
2. there is a moderate chance your local stationer will have kami. If you can't immediately see any, ask them, they will probably have hidden it somewhere, because they don't generally sell a lot of it.
3. if you have a staples near you there is a very small chance they will sell origami paper, but they do have a rather nice selection of brightly coloured printer papers of similar weight (~50gsm) to kami

Yup, i always try to buy it offline, but when i get round to it, i'm always tempted to buy the more expensive paper... :D I do get it occasionally though, and it's sold in quite alot of shops here so i'll buy some later today.

Masks work better with pleats instead of just plain curved folds. Try using divided pleats and tessellations for each feature. It's all about making a "theme" for your mask, whether is hexagons or triangles.
