Don't worry, the opposite is just as bad... Picture coming home four years later and your mom hands you a box completely full of ancient (relatively simple) origami pieces, all that she could find from your (now clean) room, preserved, just in case you wanted them all those years later. I think I kept only one...

A lot. I often throw away those test folds with copy paper.
Or when I refold something, the older ones are thrashed.

At a wedding I made a Kawasaki rose out of a napkin, then as soon as I set it on one of the tables a cleaning lady grabbed it and mashed it up and threw it in a bag.

I throw away many models and when I fold a better one of a model I throw away all of the ones of that design I made before

I never actually throw my stuff away. I just have a shelf that is my gallery, and those unfit (most of them) to be on my shelf are thrown in a box. That way, I can revisit old folds and the memories just seep in, and before your know it you start crying  ... never mind. I'll just cry by myself in the corner.
Folding is everything, and everything is folding

I wouldn't blame anyone for throwing something away. Most of the models in my room look like trash, lol. I will throw things away when I am designing and the piece I've been working with has been folded so many times it no longer holds its shape. Or like others have said, if I fold a better version, I will throw the old one away.

There was one time I folded a flower in school. I accidentally left it behind, but when I came back for it the teacher had thrown it away. I didn't think it looked like trash, but it wasn't a big deal. I don't think I spent a lot of time on it.

Yes, dogs ate 145-point my Megura sea urchin as soon as I finished and stepped away. Nice paper too...

I throw mine away all the time. i run out of room to store them. then there are some horrible looking practice pieces that just go straight to the recycling bin
