Tissue foil WAS popular a year ago! a lot origamists used it.. many of them (including me) started folding with any but foiled paper. I saw they improved theyir skills alot.. I am happy with my progress too.
I used tissue-foil only five times in a last year (since 2010 January).. And around hundred were folded with kami/ double tissue +mc / single tissue + mc / unryu / kraft / baking paper / or simple colored copy paper...

when i play halo (pc) my friend would say, "banshees are for noobs"
