The one in SF was in 2009. The next PCOC will be Seattle 2011, and there'll be an Origami Canada convention in Vancouver in 2012.

I'm going to wait to decide until prices for PCOC and Centerfold are announced, then I'll figure out which one I want to go to.

There aren't going to be any this year in San Francisco? Cuz what HankSimon was talking about sounded like an annual convention...

And how much do the prices average? 20? 50? 100?

No SF this year, and I'd left out the new Origami Canada convention.

There're probably others that I've left out.

BTW, if there is interest in a southeast USA convention, someone will have to take the lead to organize it... because I know of no efforts in that direction.

I cannot speak for PCOC, but if you do so now registration for CenterFold is $125. The hotel where is it held is not particularly expensive.

My apologies for the thread jack.

I'm planning to go to NYC this year; it will be my first time ever going. Does anyone know when the schedule of events will be posted? I was thinking I might try to get tickets to see that new Trey Parker/Matt Stone broadway musical when I'm there.

Edit: I meant my first time to the OrigamiUSA convention, not to NYC :)

If they continue what's been customary in the last 10 years or so, it will be the last weekend of June that includes a Monday, so this year it will be Friday 24 to Monday 27.

>>> Friday 24 to Monday 27.

That is probably the Convention date, but the Schedule won't be posted until a few weeks before. And the tutorials may not be posted until a week before, or so.

BTW, there are many advantages to volunteering to help set up etc., and even more advantages to teaching a model ...

You are right Hank. I supposed that since the question is about arranging to take advantage of being in NYC to go see something else, the dates would be enough, unless he wants to see the schedule to see what day he can skip classes and go somewhere else.

I wish there was a SE convention, I would definitely go. I cannot afford a trip to NYC this year, maybe next year!

Grace, you don't happen to be in the Atlanta area, do you? Several of us are trying to get the Atlanta Regional Folders going again...

Yes, I am. I made a post about it in the Atlanta topic but never got a response. I would love to help restart it!
