Mounts for nonstandable models

Anyone know what's a good way to mount flying/nonstandable models? is there an actually origami model for this? What do you use to mount those models?

A lot of good choices have been listed. When i make something I like floor tile samples with welding rod inserted, you can get it in all kinds of guages and in stanless steel, keeps better than coat hangers, but is more spendy.

for some prefabed options google "Place card holder clip"

wedding place card holders with alagator clips work nicely, but you can find all manner of design that might enhance your display

Funny you should ask: I just bought this wire bender:



...to use to make very clean and neat wire stands. This particular model is supposed to be able to bend fairly stiff wire, such as music wire. I haven't tried it yet, though; I expect it'll take a bit of practice, particularly to make clean folds in three dimensions!

I usually buy big rolls of metal wire which I twist together to reinforce it. The advantage is that you can shape it so that they hold any particular model.
Something else I tried recently was to hang my models to a hook on the ceiling using strings (dental floss, actually).
