anyway, nice fold, but i see that you have hind legs with scales going wrong way (backwards).

wow, that's a super thin paper! is it something like "alios kraft" from origami-shop? few days ago i discovered it folds very well and i was planning to buy more of it for the ryu zin!
anyway, nice fold, but i see that you have hind legs with scales going wrong way (backwards).

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
Yeah, i used exactly that paper, it's really good for this model and insects too.
I realised I folded the legscales wrong, but it was too late for me to fix that (I think the leg scales are the hardest part of the RZ 3.5)

Actually the leg scales are the easiest and they are funniest too!
Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
nope, for me almost everything else is easy apart from them and how on earth can folds be funny?Dj origami wrote:Actually the leg scales are the easiest and they are funniest too!

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
I meant funniest, since lots of people are having trouble with them and they are actually super easy...Razzmatazz wrote:Maybe he meant fun-est. But then it autocorrected.
Just fallow creases in World super complex and try not to think about shaped scales cause they are really annoying
here's the leg fold by me...

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
For those who have trouble with the cp, I found a channel on youtube that is kinda like a tutorial for the whole model (excluding precreasing). Check it out if you have time
apparently the tutorial is false, so I deleted the link, Sorry for the ones that wasted their time on it.

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
so now, when i spend years on trying parts and learning the model, someone made a channel which solves all my old problems?
by the way, i'm starting the shaping of my rz 3.5. but it won't turn out good, my kraft lost it's strength after 10 months of folding.

Good luck! Nothing a bunch of glue and wires can't get under control.

I had head of the ry 3,5 shaped with help of that video and it sucks
Here's my new head without help of this video ...

Hey guys, im new here...but here is my progress of the ryuzin 2.1 i was working on
about 14 hours on working on it, its my first try of the ryuzin. I'm folding from a 1 meter square kraft paper. Just collapsed the upper half of the model. By the way im only 14 years old so..

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
Keep it up! and if you have questions feel free to ask for help.
And no need to point out your age, that tends to cause discussions some times.

What do you mean it causes discussions? What discussions? I'm not discussing. Great job brandon. You're 14. You're awesome. I'm impressed. Keep it up! Positive reinforcement is what you need when you're 14. So what if you ask for it. Seriously, though. I'm impressed. No sarcasm intended here; even though it may come off that way.
Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Ryu Zin (CP)
I started folding my first 2.1 when I was like 16 years old, so I don't think being young is any problem ;p probably if someone had shown me "serious" origami earlier, I would have done it earlier. it's about how much you practice, how your brain works, how fast you can learn tricks with paper and solve little problems like satoshi diamonds.
urgh, shaping scales sucks. my paper doesn't help, kraft is so old that I can't even move the folds if they aren't correct. and leg scales... I hope water and glue will keep them in more correct way, now they don't look really like legs of a dragon god :p
