That turtle IS in Advanced Origami, but it's only a picture on page 11. It'll be nice to see a diagram for that wonderful model.

I think that you also need paper that is about 2m x 2m to get a life-sized alligator

Maybe an 8M x 8M square would yeild a full sized gator, but the one at PEM is indeed 2M x 2M. Its hard to say what hes including in his book, perhaps other works he created while in Florida in 05/06. There is an online gallery for that exhibit, at this website. There was an article on his time spent there as well, but I can't seem to find it.

I also happened to be at the Origamido studio the day Michael finished folding the one for the exhibit that opened in April 2005. I was at the studio on St. Patrick's Day 2005, March 17. Michael said it was from 5 foot by 5 foot handmade paper. I was lucky enough to see the alligator partially complete and then finished. It took a couple days to fold, because of the pleats. Unfortunately I did not get any pictures my first visit.

For those who may be interested, Michael's new book - "Origami Art" is now available in bookstores in Singapore. It says on the backcover that the book was printed in Singapore. I don't know about the other countries but you should be seeing it soon if it's not available already.
