Cornstarch Paste?

Post by LakatosI »

Because of the lack of origami paper in my area, I have decided that I would try out backcoating in order to do some wet-folding. My problem is that all of the guides that I have read recommend using wheat starch paste for example. My problem is that I can't find anywhere wheat starch. Is cornstarch a viable substitute?

I would use regular water-soluble glue bought from the shop, but from what I could see prices are ridiculously high, which I can't afford.

Cornstarch should work although wallpaper paste is probably better because it doesn't attract moulds so much.
