I don't think that Satoshi should make diagrams for any ryu jin. I think he should give the Crease pattern for his 3.5 dragon but leave the challenge and mystery of the molding and artistic part up to the folder to figure out. Plus it would just be sooooo long.

As for the phoenix I would like diagrams. Probably more so to stop everyone who continues putting up annoying posts on how to do the crease pattern. Plus it would be nice to see how he did the wings.

Yeah Oruhito, I think if he did make diagrams of the Ryu Zin, it would probably take up the whole entire book, besides, Ican't imagine the CP solution of the model, is there even any reference points for Ryu Zin?

I believe it uses a 160 by 160 grid.

Or maybe I'm just talking crap. Who knows?

2.1 is 80 x 80 box-pleating. 3.5 is box-pleating also, but I'm unsure of the grid.

i used to think the same thing. but then i saw the "layout" of the cp in godzebu's thread. after seeing it, i think sk should diagram this model sooner or later as a study in assymetrical folding. collapsing the cp is not the same as the folding sequence used to arrive at the final product.

Perhaps not, but I think if the CP were accompanied with some limited remarks about how the piece actually comes together (i.e. how the 2 sections of scales intersect and how the scales are done), then it would be a good compromise. This is a baseless statement, but I think that most of the people who would try (and be able to succeed) at folding ryujin would be CP folders anyway. Of course, I may be wrong, but either way ryujin, I'm sure, is one of the harder things to fold ever created.

I obviously voted for Ryu Zin 3.5 as I am losing too much sleep over this!

However, I must say that I have learned more about the "concept" of designing origami models since I took on this project (just few couple of months now) than I ever did in my 15 years of origami experiences (folding from diagram only).

The breakthrough I had is truly remarkable, and I have some really good ideas... I wish I can post them all without getting Crucified by the "Copyright Warriors".. I feel like I am becoming this MAD Scientist who have all these ideas in his head with no one to share with he he he...

If ya’ll ever hear about some dude found dead caused by apparent Aneurysm with huge folded papers all over his office… Ya’ll know who that is and why he died…

Well that's enough of me..

Zebu, I think we all appreciate your work a lot and until now I haven't seen anything from you that would be against copyright laws (at least I think so).
Your study is really interesting and I'm curious to see your final outcome sooner or later.

Zebu, anything short of posting the full CP of version 2.1 and I think you're on solid ground. I for one am very interested in seeing the progression of your study.

well he published some diagrams all over the place like Sleipnir, Hermit Crab and the lion

So it is likely he will gather these for a new book added by some new diagrams. Just like he did with his first book...
