as other masters who passed away before him, monsieur joisel lives on through his art and the people who learned from and were inspired by him.
i'm really sad about the fact that i never met him personally ...

Sad day for origami, that's too bad because he was a great folder.
We must build upon the work of past masters for we are beginning to become the second generation of folders.

This news is ver saddening. Eric was one of the best in the world.

I just hope that they publish his book soon, it would be a shame to let his models be left unfolded by the world.

His gnome may be my favorite model to fold, a truly sad loss. I had always hoped to one day purchase one made by the master himself.

The paper lies unfolded now
Those skilful hands at rest
Soft creases in his forehead smoothed
A light removed, but blessed

Calliope's bright champion
Of Paris, Self Made Man
With votive siren clarion call
His mountains towering stand

No need to mask our sorrow yet
Still thankful, though you're gone
We honour now thy mem'ry sweet
To fold, forever, on

Dear friends:

The Great Jousting of Ancient Egypt is sad for our friend Eric Joisel. I have prepare a short and deep video to express my feeling about this sad day when our friend and Origami Master passaway. The Madrigal's Jousting joins that way the mourning of the Origami community and is gratefull with Eric for all he gave to us and all his wonderfull origami models. Video in youtube.
