Chin growth necessary?

Post by cedison »

If beards are a requirement I am truly worried. Who is going to tell Fuse?

Well this was an amusing thread to stumble on. While I typically embrace a challenge this, ummm, well must be a dream deferred. I am simply not willing to grow a beard...sure it might happen unwillingly, but that is what the tweezer is for...for paper power.

I propose we take this into the realm of cold "hard" statistics:P We could plot facial hair to number or complexity of designed models. Is it correlation or causation...wow a last month project for my A.P. Statistics students is just waiting here.

Eric  I might be able to handle a paper beard. Go for the gold with that growth goal.

Sincerely,

Christine Edison

That sounds like a lot of fun, Christine. We could consider the presence or absence of a beard as a binary variable, or consider the length of beard. We could do logistic regression or multiple regression. We could use Google Trends to estimate the popularity of a model or designer...

I'm totally willing to do that :)

Well, if you look at a lot of the photos, you may notice something else that quite a few masters have in common- balding. And it seems that if they're not bald, then they have really short hair.
However, the beards seem the most common. But I'll pass on that for now.

And you need to invent the way how to differentiate men and women by name to exclude wrong input date to math model. Czech and other Slavonian languages are able to do it but English...?

The secret to becoming an origami master

Post by gordigami »

After all is said and done,
I believe that success in origami
is due more to prodigious practice and creative genes,
than to abundant hair follicles .
May I wish success to all who cope with the mountains & valleys of Life,
with all its peaks & depths, as well as Origami .

Dang. I'm not going to have a beard for years. I'm only 50 x 2 - 88.

Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.

(We can do simple math :-$ )

And if you can't grow a beard, why not fold one?

I think some people are missing the sarcasm associated with this topic...

I don't think it is sarcasm ... so much as teasing and pulling people's ....
leg.

But I do think that most living Origami Masters .... are a little silly... whether or not they are smooth, scruffy, or fully bearded.

(I started some CPs by Brian Chan, but I shaved... and haven't been able to finish them. )

It's a little fun story of me about designing!

When I designed a Doll, I couldn't find any bases to fold, I tried whole day to fold but I didn't succeed. When I woke up next day, I saw I had had a beard (because I always shave everyday) and I folded the Virgo doll on that day!
