I especially like this one here:

Unfortunately he didn't put a creasepattern for this one up, anyone knows how to fold it?

Actually, the crease pattern can be found on his website too:

Thx wolf :) I've just put the text for this crane variation through a Japanese translator and saw that he said that this variation has the same crease pattern.
I definitely should continue my Japanese learning process....

Since my japanese is non existant, I can´t agree or disagree that this is a book. As I´ve seen the pictures on the website, I thought that only would be a nice background. Also the text is caged in the picture, so I can´t run it through a translation software. Maybe some of our japanese speaking members can help with a translation?

What about this!

Spkeny,

I dont think Tanaka Masashi has published a book. Because nothing found in the Origami Database. There is info only about his butterfly CP and cat diagram.

A friend of mine came up with a way to have basically a 5 flapped bird base. 2 headed cranes and all sorts of craziness comes out of that :).

*bump

if any translators can illuminate this mystery, you will be blessed with a thousand good mornings.

I just folded one of Tanaka Masashi's. Keeping the cubes in shape was the most difficult (and I didn't do a good job with it). Strangely the CP has not much to do with the bird base CP. Anyway here it is:
