Is Jeremy Shafer bloody (pardon the expression) amazing or what? If you know any of his models and you love them as much as me, please let me know so I know I'm not going crazy!

Meh . . . I don't think he's that great. I mean, his models are ok technically, but I don't take him too seriously because his subjects are so ridiculous. Not in a bad way, of course I enjoyed folding the origami square as much as the next person, but I feel like origami should get more respect than he's giving it. Maybe I'm just a stuck up guy who doesn't know what he's blathering on about.

I suppose they are very ridiculous, but sometimes origami can be to structured. It's good to laugh, and besides, have you seen his 'creature' and wildboar. Not ridiculous at all, but incredible amazing. He was only 11 when he designed the 'creature and 15 when he designed the boar. It's good to have a lighter side!

The swis army knife, surfer, and musical notes are all favorites of mine.

l had fun doing the origami square and the invisible duck, but I'm having trouble with the monolithic rublestone boulder. I wish he'd included a more detailed folding sequence instead of just the CP. Has anyone else successfully folded one?

I attempted one, I had to grid it out on an equal sized piece of paper though. I got a bit stuck. Someone else try it cuz I'm failing desperately.

why not just crinkle a piece of paper and say you made they cant look too different

His models are alright but I always get scared entering the BARF sight because of him *shudder*

His models are absolutely amazing and his book is one that shouldn´t be missing in any folders Origami library. The range is from very simple to complex and there´s a model for everyone inside this book. The thoughts behind the folds boxes give deeper insight in creating your own models. It´s just fun to read the book even without folding. Jeremy Shafer is by far my most favorite author and I´m looking forward for his next book to be published.

rokonacdc: The Monolithic Rubblestone Boulder is a joke as well as the invisible duck, the origami square and the carbon atom (this one really gave me a big laughter).

If you carefully follow the directions, the invisible duck can be folded into a visible duck using normal paper.

I´ve done so many times before and the ducks are really looking nice, but interestingly I´ve never got two equal ducks
