The Origami Forum

I think I got lucky. I went to this used book store and they had about 6 books on origami. Four of them looked like real beginner stuff but two of them looked good. So I bought them. I spent $4 on the "Origami Animals" by Robert J. Lang and $6 for "The World of Origami" by Isao Honda.

Anybody have a review of these two books or the authors?

Hes an excellent designer, and has progressed in technique and complexity since that book, hes also a nice guy in person. Its neat to follow his work from "The Complete Book of Origami" up to "Origami Design Secrets" and "Origami Insects II". I think this is his only out-of-print book.

Isao Honda is more of a classic. Some of his books contain works of the late Master Akira Yoshizawa. If its the particular book I'm thinking of, it has many older models in it.

Yep. Those two for $10 would definitely class as a score!
'Paper Animals' seems to be particularly tricky to find. It's a book I haven't seen for sale (or I'd have a copy!).
My own lucky second hand find was Robert Harbins 'Origami 4' for $3 (CDN) while on holiday in Vancouver.
