Does anyone try folding the dice designed by Tanaka Masashi?

It is a very impressive model but hard to fold...I wanna fold one for playing monopoly...

Can someone teach me some tips about that model?

I'll try to fold it tonight and I'll tell about it afterwards. It actually seems pretty simple to collapse, as long as you follow the mountain and valley folds.

It's really hard. I wrote a little about it in the thread Daydreamer linked to.

Make sure you use a large sheet of paper. The little squares that are 1/13 the side of the square are the size of each face of the die, not the spots. Also, as with all Tanaka Masashi's stuff, there is quite a bit of fiddling to be done after the crease pattern is collapsed. You have to figure out how to make all the spots.

Alright, my dice is almost finished. just need to figure out how to form the 1...

Anyway, here's some tips : As I had said before, you just need to fold alongside the moutain and valley folds indicated in the CP and you should be able to fold it... with a lot of patience. Also, use large, thin paper as the dice becomes really small (like origamimasterjared said, 1/13 of your starting square) and the faces get really thick.

The numbers indicate the location of the dice faces are while the blue circles represent the two points sticking out of the model in the second picture of drbull's link. Hope this helps a lot. I'll post a picture of my dice when I finish it.

EDIT : I finally finished it! I know I didn't form the dice right, but I did my best. Pictures will be coming soon.

WOW!!! You are really great! Actually, it is difficult for me to crack the crease pattern...especially this kind in abstract form...Hope you can share some photos for reference later. ^^

I think I nearly finish this model...But mine some parts are different with the model answer...some parts still remain unsolve.(e.g. formation of point 1 and point 5, etc.)

I'm learning how to post photos to the forum now...and I have drawn the crease pattern by using Oripa.

Thanks for the cool cp! I tried it and here is what I have so far.

The number 1 dot is ugly... help?
I know I'm missing some connecting flaps, but i believe i can add them in.
Any suggestions for efficiently closing the model would be awesome.

I beleive you aren't missing connecting flaps for the 1. It pretty much the way mine looked before closing the model. As for this step, the way I found wasn't very efficient, so I guess you have to try closing it yourself (hint: the to triangles poping up from the 4 and 3 faces make the rest of the 1 face, so it'll be a bit open.)

Here's my result:

The rubber bands are neccessary or the dice will not hold a very cubic-looking shape. Sunburst, I just can't get the clean look which your dice has. Is it because I used kami?- Did you use foil?
