I think my first job will be teaching one of my favorite hobbies- You guessed it- Origami!

My aunt mentioned to me that her friend works at a local library and she would find out if she could get me a job teaching a class there! This gave me the idea, and since then I've looked into other possible places and so far I have found a second library and a craft store that I might be able to work at. I just need to bring in some of my work.

Any suggestions on what to bring in? I was just thinking a few of the iconic models (crane, frog, etc), two or three simple modular pieces and something that will be the killer 'wow' model.

Please bear in mind that I'm still 'learning' how to read and fold crease-patterns, and might be skilled enough to be considered an intermediate leveled folder.

Thats great. I've done some volunteer work teaching origami in the past, and it actually lead to my current job which I've been at for 4 years. Good luck.

That sounds like an exciting job! Origami is a good method to get someone to relax.

If you were to walk into my workplace, you'd see origami everywhere!! My co-workers love it when I learn something new and usually fight over who gets the first one.

Right now, I'm working on Ronald Koh's King Cobra. I'm only doing the bust and I plan on giving it to my boyfriend for Christmas. I'll post pictures when I'm done.

Man, teaching origami would be incredible. I want to learn to do both better (teaching and origami).

My friend's mom holds an art camp at their property every year and she employs my brother to teach sketching and sumi-e, while I teach origami. It's a lot of fun, especially when that handfull of kids really get into it.
